Welcome to my “How to set up a small office network.”
Planning and installation of a local network in the company or in the office is a very important and important process. After all, it ultimately depends on it, whether the elementary situation becomes for you a problem when it is necessary to make a rearrangement in the office or organize a workplace for a new employee.

The involvement of specialists in the planning of local networks is due to a number of factors. More details on what is required to create a normal local network that allows you to easily make furniture reshuffles in the office or to make a donation to the staff of employees can be read in a special article devoted to this article Planning and laying a local network in the enterprise.
Installation of a local network.
Depending on the complexity of the installation of the local network and SCS, the time declared on the network layout can fluctuate within a radius of several hours, plus or minus to several days. After all, there are also such unpleasant things as hidden works - we can assure you that our specialists do not play on this term to increase the total cost of laying a local network, but the fact remains: sometimes the customer does not know in advance that literally every other day in the existing plan installation can be changed, the nature of which will affect not only the time of work but also the cost of laying lives.
Of course, everyone is interested in the price of installing a local computer network, because Kiev is not an expensive city. We dare to assure you that no one will make supernatants - the purchase of consumables (coils of twisted-pair cable, sockets for RJ-45 and RJ-11, connectors 45 and 11, telephone wire) occurs in a completely transparent scheme. If you want, if you think that you can take cheaper - we will use the materials you provided. In general, prices are calculated based on the complexity of work and footage. laying a local network of cues.
Drawing up a plan (exit to the object, making measurements) for laying the local network free of charge, provided that the required length of the mounted LAN for connecting the office (for the local network installation) does not exceed 100 meters of the cable. In case of exceeding 100 meters the price for the product of measurements and drawing up a plan for laying the cable and connecting the outlets for workplaces will be 1.49 UAH. per meter (discounts and promotions act individually).
Installation and design of computer networks is a responsible, in some cases quite complex technological process. When we say "complicated", we mean the need for a clear understanding of the subtleties and features of installing cable networks, as well as a detailed knowledge of the characteristics of consumables to ensure the durability of the installed SCS (Structured Cabling System).
During the time of our work, our specialists encountered different nuances in laying the cable, because there is a huge difference between pulling hundreds of meters of twisted pair under the ceiling and inside a special cable channel designed to create a cable system, or by pulling and pulling the cable to an outlet inside a false wall from gypsum board (at the same time without violating the integrity of the wall itself). This guarantees our customer peace of mind for the appearance of the office - if you want to order the installation of a local network from us, then do not worry - the work on the cable laying will leave the makeup of the premises untouched. Of course, it should be noted that carrying out works of increased accuracy partially affects the price of installing LVS, slightly increasing the cost.
The price of building a local network in Kiev.
Different types of objects, at different stages of readiness for operation, are determined by factors of the formation of the price for the laying of the cable. Typically, the cost of installing a local network is determined only after the departure of experts to the object to assess the current cosmetic and technical condition of the premises, identify options and plan the laying of cable routes. As it was written above, there is a difference between the situation when the computer network installer simply unwinds the bay, laying the cable route, or uses a broach, hiding the cable in the corrugation and mounting the route under the ceiling at a height of 4 meters. Bazoo, the price of laying the cable can be up to 2 UAH per meter. But you can find out for sure only after the departure of specialists.
Installation of local networks.
If you decided to order the installation of a computer network from us - you took the first step in providing your enterprise with a high-quality network of modern standards. Anyway, depending on your specific situation, we will take into account all wishes, and, if necessary, we will offer the most budgetary options for laying a local network. The desired result is achieved by combining the experience of our specialists with your needs and capabilities.
It should be noted that we provide not only services for the design and installation of SCS (structured cabling), but also we can conduct detailed consultations on the assortment of consumables necessary for the performance of a particular order - of course, we can guarantee continuous operation only if our consultation was really heard. And you decided not to save on the main element of the network - a twisted pair cable, deciding to purchase not a cable with a coppered aluminum core, but a quality product (alas, but the price of quality is from 6 UAH per meter of cable).
So, the main stages of installing a local network:
- conducting an actual survey of the object;
- Discussion of the initial options for cable routing, computer outlets etc;
- development of a prerogative network installation strategy, making proposals (in the absence of specific requests from you) or discussing the technical assignment you provided for the network;
- approval of the project;
- directly installation of cable, cable-channel, installation and cross-connection of outlets, patch panels, installation of active equipment;
- adjustment of equipment;
- delivery of the installed cable network.
The computer network is an integral part of modern business, and it becomes more and more irreplaceable in the home. The network allows the computer to connect to the Internet so you can check e-mail, update the website or conduct a teleconference. LAN also allows you to locally communicate with other computers within such a network. Creating a network by itself is not difficult - all you need is to connect your computer to the router using an Ethernet cable. However, this is a very simplified version of what we really need. You will need other components if you want to add more computers to your network, share files, transfer media, share a printer, or control access to data on the network. And the complexity increases if some clients of your network will access it wirelessly. Below is a list of all the necessary actions and tools (devices) that you will need to quickly and easily configure a home or small office LAN. Also, you will find some key tips to make it work together.
Select a wireless router.
You can not configure a home or office network without a router. And for almost every network you will be installing, you need to configure shared access for wired and wireless connections. A wireless router can provide both types of network access.
The router acts as a bridge between your home network (your local network) and the Internet (the global network), and also allows all computers connected to it to use this connection. Your router also usually acts as a DHCP server on your network, allowing each connected device to have an individual and private IP address. This is very important if you need the devices on the network to communicate with each other. Wireless routers also have built-in firewalls to protect the network from threats and intrusions. Use WPA or WPA2 to protect your Wi-Fi network and never leave the router administrator password by default.
Routers are known for what is known to be difficult to configure, but such devices, such as Cisco Valet Plus, come bundled with special software that simplifies network creation. The only limitation with Valet Plus is that it only works at 2.4 GHz. If you plan to add a storage device, media server, or your own web server, you will need a router that supports a 5 GHz band and that has Gigabit Ethernet ports for high-speed wired connections.
A dual-band (ie, 2.4 and 5 GHz) router, such as the D-Link DIR-825, provides higher bandwidth for complex tasks such as file sharing and streaming video. Remember that a 5 GHz band will not make an internet connection faster. The speed of web traffic is controlled by your ISP and local telecommunications (or cable) infrastructure. However, using a 5 GHz band can make your internal network more capacious and stable.
Select network standard.
Another important consideration is the wireless network standard. All the latest routers, wireless devices such as the iPad, and even desktop computers, such as the Apple Mac Mini, come with the 802.11n network standard (or simply "N" for short). If all the devices on your network support the N-standard, then your network works in N mode (done through the settings of the router). N has theoretically maximum transmission rates - up to 540 Mbit / s - which is much faster than outdated standards, b and g. However, in fact, you will not see 540 Mbit / s due to interference and other factors, but you will get a higher bandwidth in your network.
Of course, you may have older devices that do not support the N standard. This will not be a problem when connected; Devices that support only 802.11 band g can still connect to wireless routers N, provided that the router is configured to work in "Mixed mode." Keep in mind that an older device that connects via borg can slow down the entire network. If you can reflash it, upgrade your devices and adapters to N. This will allow you to use the 5 GHz band if you are using your network to stream media or exchange other large files.

A laptop, desktop or another device can transmit data over a wired Ethernet connection faster than a wireless connection, especially when sending or receiving large media files.
