Connect to computer over internet

Welcome to my “Connect to the computer over the internet.”
An Internet connection is a type of network connection. The Internet uses TCP / IP, a fast, robust protocol for transferring information between computers on a network. The Internet is a worldwide TCP / IP network. To use pcAnywhere over the Internet, both computers in use for the session must have the TCP / IP network protocol installed. If you are already connected to the Internet, your Internet Service Provider (ISP) has already installed TCP / IP. If you are not connected to the Internet, contact your local ISP.
Connection settings
There are two parts to setting up this connection.
    Internet connection
    pcAnywhere connections
Use one of the following methods to connect to the Internet.
Dial-up through local Internet service provider (ISP) Point to Point (PPP) Internet account.
An internal TCP / IP network that "real-time" connects to the Internet
Note: The pcAnywhere portion of the connection is performed after you connect to the Internet. In pcAnywhere, use TCP / IP connections over dial-up networking.

Internet connection
Start Internet connection
There are two ways to start an Internet connection.
    Dial-up networking
Other Internet programs such as e-mail programs or browsers
Start Internet Connection with Dial-Up Networking
Contact your local Internet provider to create a dial-up PPP account for Internet access. These vendors will install Windows 9x or Windows NT dial-up networking programs. Make a note of the "host DNS server IP address" that your business notices. You will need this address later. The Dial-Up Networking program handles modem connections to Internet providers and the Internet itself.
Refer to "pcAnywhere TCP / IP Host and Remote Settings" later in this document for the exact steps to configure the host and remote settings.
To disable the Microsoft WinSock Proxy Client during dial-up networking connections, follow these steps:
Click Start> Settings, and then click Control Panel.
    Double-click the WSP Client icon.
    Uncheck "Use WinSock Proxy Client".
    Click OK.
    When prompted, restart your computer.
If you see a black screen when connecting to the host, see Black screen connections when using TCP / IP and Dial-Up Networking (DUN).
Start an Internet connection using another program
One of the options for dial-up networking is to indicate an Internet connection start message every time an Internet program is launched. This option is on by default.
Each time you run an Internet application, such as an e-mail program or a Web browser, the Windows 9x or Windows NT 4.0 dial-up networking program starts and prompts you to dial into the Internet provider. Once connected, the Internet application begins to download information from the Internet to perform its functions. In this scenario, the current user is connected to the Internet so you can start the pcAnywhere connection manually instead of having pcAnywhere start the connection.
Refer to "pcAnywhere TCP / IP Host and Remote Settings" later in this document for the exact steps to configure the host and remote settings.
Internal TCP / IP network connected to the Internet
Most companies currently have an internal TCP / IP network that is permanently connected to the Internet. If you have an internal TCP / IP network, you can configure the host and remote to use TCP / IP. Usually, you start the host first and then the remote one. See "pcAnywhere TCP / IP Host and Remote Settings" in the next section for the exact steps to configure the host and remote settings.
